This policy explains what personal data Animal Lab collects, why, and your rights over it. We aim to collect as little as possible.

Who we are

Animal Lab (“we”, “us”) is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: hello@animal-lab.co.uk.

What we collect

• Account details — your email address, display name and a hashed password (we never store your password in readable form).
• Your content — the drawings you make and the creatures you take part in.
• Activity — games you create or join, friends, ratings, credits and badges.
• Technical data — basic information your browser sends (like IP address) and a sign-in cookie.

How we use it

• To run the game — create your account, keep you signed in, and let you play and collaborate.
• To send service emails — invites, your-turn reminders, reveals and sign-in links.
• To operate features like the Menagerie, leaderboard, friends and referrals.

Our lawful bases are performing our contract with you (running the Service) and our legitimate interests in operating and improving it. We do not sell your personal data.

Sharing

We use a small number of processors to run the Service: hosting and storage (Vercel), transactional email (Resend), AI image generation (Google via Vercel AI Gateway) and, where you buy credits, payments (Stripe). They only process data on our behalf. Content you post to public games or the Menagerie is visible to others by design.

Retention

We keep your account data while your account exists. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data at any time.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export your data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise them, email hello@animal-lab.co.uk.

Children

Animal Lab isn't intended for children under 13 (or the local age of digital consent). We don't knowingly collect their data.
